Justin Williams has seen time with several teams in the NHL. He’s been a part of the Philadelphia Flyers, Carolina Hurricanes, Los Angeles Kings and Washington Capitals. His numbers prove that he can be a valuable asset to any team. He has signed a deal that will send him back to Carolina and earn him $9 million over two years.

Williams is known for his clutch performances during the post-season. Dubbed “Mr. Game Seven,” he has been a part of three Stanley Cup winning teams. In 140 playoff games, Williams has 36 goals and 58 assists. He captured the Conn Smyth in 2014 when he helped the Kings win the cup.
Drafted in 2000 by the Flyers, Williams immediately made his impact felt in the league. In his rookie season he had 12 goals and 13 assists in 63 games. Things only got better the next season as he point total jumped to 40.
The next two seasons were a struggle that saw Williams traded to the Hurricanes during the 2003-04 season. During his time there, he helped the team win their only Stanley Cup during the 2005-06 season. He would do the same with the Kings during the 2011-2012 and 2013-14 seasons
The Capitals signed Williams in the summer of 2015 for his leadership and his production. A team that had been unable to get over their postseason hump brought in a player who was familiar to the playoffs and who had proven himself to be clutch.
Williams will turn 36 years old in October, but he has yet to show his age. Since joining the Capitals in 2015 he has 46 goals and 54 assists. This past season saw him notch 24 goals and 24 assists. He also contributed with three goals and six assists in 13 playoff games.
In 1080 NHL games, Williams has 273 goals and 409 assists. His numbers during each season of his career have been mostly consistent, reaching double digit goals in all but six seasons. Williams has proven to be clutch time and time again. The Hurricanes will be looking for that to continue.
