The New Jersey Devils new superstar Taylor Hall has suffered a knee injury that is set to keep him off the ice for 3-4 weeks. According to the Devils team website: “This afternoon, Taylor Hall underwent arthroscopic surgery for a torn meniscus in his left knee. The procedure was performed at Summit Medical Group Surgery Center by team physician Dr. Michael Shindle and Dr. Jonathan Glashow, the Devil’s Chief Medical Officer. His expected recovery time is approximately 3-4 weeks. Additionally, the club has placed Hall on Injured Reserve.”

Hall joined the New Jersey Devils this off-season in a one-for-one trade for defenseman Adam Larsson. During his time in Edmonton, Hall had 132 goals and 328 total points for the Edmonton Oilers. Since joining New Jersey he has played in 14 games in which he has give goals and 12 total points which has him tied for the team-lead with Damon Severson. Many consider the addition of Hall to be a major contributing factor to their hot start to the season.
Hall was drafted first overall by the Edmonton Oilers in the 2010 NHL Entry Draft. During his just over six-year NHL career he has scored 137 goals and 340 total points, one of the best resumes in the league during that time. The expected recovery time will have Hall returning to the ice sometime in early-to-mid December.
