Brenden Jordan Committed To Texas Tech

Brenden Jordan Committed

Texas Tech head coach Joey McGuire’s first season was a resounding success. However, it wasn’t just due in part to the on-field results, which were very significant in their own right. It was also about the momentum he had built on the recruiting trail. In fact, it had climbed to heights unheard of in the last decade. Now, with the early signing period open, his recruiting class can finally put ink to paper and officially bring this class together. On Wednesday, Brenden Jordan committed to Texas Tech and is one of three four-star recruits that signed in McGuire’s first full recruiting class.

Brenden Jordan Committed To The Vision

McGuire had to bring strong conviction to the recruiting trail if he was going to turn this program around quickly. Whatever vision he presented to Jordan must have been potent. He gave Texas Tech his verbal commitment way back in February of this year. This came as Jordan received offers from USC, SMU, Ole Miss, Mississippi State, Grambling, Kansas, Colorado, Arkansas, and Arizona.

Physical Presence In Secondary

Jordan, listed at 6-0 tall and 200 lbs, is a “thumper.” He often will deliver those big hits that can set the tone for a defense and create a real “wow” factor on one play. There is no doubt Jordan will be willing and able to stop the running game by any opponent. When Jordan steps on campus in Lubbock, he will possess ready-to-play physical tools. Defending the pass is not a weakness by any means, but this is the biggest area of growth for Jordan. The Mansfield, Texas product has the size to even come play down in a linebacker/edge-type role with proper development. There is no doubt that defensive coordinator Tim DeRuyter will look forward to utilizing a physical player like Jordan for years to come in Lubbock.
