BYU Beats UCF 49-23 in Boca Raton Bowl

Wilson might have played his last game with the BYU Cougars as he’s expected to be a top pick in the upcoming 2021 NFL Draft. If he were not to return to BYU, Wilson would have left on a very high note with his five touchdowns and bowl game victory.

On the other hand, the UCF Knights had no answers to stop the BYU offense and its offense couldn’t keep up. The Knights will end their 2020 season with a 6-4 record and a blowout bowl loss to BYU. We predicted an outcome like this in our Boca Raton Bowl preview.

UCF Knights

The UCF Knights weren’t ready for the BYU Cougars as they got beat 49-23 in the Boca Raton Bowl. Dillon Gabriel and the UCF offense didn’t have a bad night but it wasn’t enough to secure the win.

Gabriel completed 21 out of 45 passes for 217 yards and two touchdowns. The left-handed quarterback also rushed for 31 yards on six carries.

Greg McCrae was the lead rusher for the UCF Knights. McCrae rushed for 77 yards on 18 carries and scored the only rushing touchdown of the game. Otis Anderson also rushed for 73 yards on 16 carries.

Wide receiver Jacob Harris might have finished his collegiate career on a high note. Harris led UCF in receiving with four receptions for 67 yards and a touchdown. Jaylon Robinson also had four catches for 44 yards and a score. He could have had another touchdown but Robinson dropped a wide-open touchdown pass.

On defense, UCF was terrible as they had no answers for BYU’s offense. They allowed 665 yards of total offense with 441 of those yards through the air. Redshirt-sophomore Jermaine McMillian led the Knights in tackles.

The safety had eleven tackles including seven solo tackles and one pass defended. Former Georgia cornerback Divaad Wilson had three tackles including a tackle for loss before being ejected for a questionable targeting call. Sophomore linebacker Tatum Bethune had the only sack in the game.
