Oklahoma has continued its success in the JUCO ranks by officially signing Justin Harrington, a 6-foot-3, 214-pound defensive back out of Bakersfield College. Harrington is a four-star recruit, per the 247Sports composite. He also had offers from Oklahoma State, North Carolina State, and Colorado among others.
Oklahoma Sooners Sign JUCO Defensive Back Justin Harrington
Harrington has the size that Alex Grinch covets from a safety position. He is the top-ranked safety in America in the JUCO ranks. In fact, overall he is the #12 player this year in JUCO. His size and ball-hawking ability make him a great fit for the Oklahoma Sooners Defense.
Harrington comes at a position that needs quality depth. For the improvement that Oklahoma has made this year in the secondary, they still don’t have quality depth behind Pat Fields and Delarrin Turner-Yell. He should be able to compete immediately. Harrington has a good chance at making the field in two-deep packages during the 2020 season. His play in spring practice could go a long way to getting on the field next season.
