Marquan McCall 2018 Kentucky Recruiting Profile

For Mark Stoops and the Kentucky Wildcats the 2018 class is shaping up to be the best one yet. A major reason for that is the signing of Marquan McCall, one of the top linemen in the nation out of Oak Park, Michigan.

Checking in at six foot three and 323 pounds McCall ranks as the nation’s fourth overall offensive guard and 135th best player in the country by Rivals. In addition he rates as the 156th best player by 24/7 Sports and is a member of the ESPN Top 300. Despite a who’s who list of offers including Michigan, Penn State and Wisconsin he chose the Cats.

Once he does get to Lexington  he presents a great problem for the Cats. McCall is able to play on both sides of the ball and is willing to do just that.  According to his coaches he is one of the best and most athletic all-around linemen in Michigan.

It is no secret the Wildcats have needed help on the defensive line for a couple of years. With a huge influx of offensive linemen coming in 2018 could McCall flip over to defense.

There had been rumblings the Wolverines were trying to come in late and steal McCann away. However he visited Kentucky over the weekend to reaffirm his commitment.

Kentucky already has many of their top returning linemen back next year in Drake Jackson and Landon Young. Add McCall to the mix and Benjamin Snell Jr. could be shooting for a school rushing record in 2018.
