In the Regular Season and the Playoffs, the Knicks’ biggest concern was their lack of perimeter shooting. They failed to make open three-point shots at a consistent rate. Therefore, their signings revolved around this deficiency and tried to solve it. Now, Donte addresses the problem for the Knicks. He was an excellent three-point shooter this past season at Golden State. DiVincenzo shot 39.7% from three-point range this past season. He also made 2.1 threes a game, tied for the highest for his career.
To point this into context, the Knicks were 24th in three-point shooting percentage. It was more of an issue in the playoffs. The Knicks only shot 29.2% from three-point range, the worst out of any team in the postseason. Therefore, DiVincenzo addresses that problem and is a stepping stone to helping the Knicks fix this concern.

Donte DiVincenzo is an excellent addition to NY. He adds shooting, toughness, and winning DNA. He also has chemistry with Hart and Brunson.
