Luka Doncic Associate Shares Promising Updates on Lakers Star

Luka Doncic has strung together an impressive first full season with the Lakers, from embarking on scoring outbursts to mounting his case for MVP. Now, his commitment to LA’s title pursuit has gained a new perspective, thanks to a Slovenian outlet’s interview with one of his close associates.

Luka Doncic Associate Shares Promising Updates on Lakers Star

Associate: Doncic Fully Healthy Ahead of Postseason

The unnamed associate told the Slovenia Times that Doncic has made strides in his physical fitness, adding that he is “fully healthy” heading into the playoffs. It is an encouraging sign for the Slovenian superstar, who missed significant time last season due to a Christmas Day calf strain.

Luka just told me the other day – he has lost another 7 pounds. On top of what he already dropped this season, he is now moving like a completely different player. He feels light on his feet, his explosiveness is back, and most importantly, that stinging pain in his right calf that troubled him so much back in 2024 is completely gone. He says he is fully healthy heading into the playoffs, and you can hear the confidence in his voice.”

Additionally, the source said Doncic has been “incredibly dedicated” to transforming his physical and mental health. “He looks leaner, stronger, and honestly, happier playing basketball than I have seen him in a long time,” they added.

Those commitments have been on display throughout the regular season. Across 62 games, Doncic is averaging 33.7 points, 7.8 rebounds, 8.2 assists and 1.6 steals. He is also shooting 47.6% from the field, 36.6% from three and 77.6% from the free-throw line.

Doncic Ready to Do “Whatever it Takes” for Lakers Title

As for Luka’s championship aspirations with the purple and gold, the source said that, too, remains unchanged: “He told me straight: ‘I am dedicated to delivering a championship to Los Angeles by any means possible.’”

“Whatever it takes – extra training, sacrifices, pushing through every challenge – he is all in. No more excuses. He wants that ring for the city, for his teammates, for the fans, and for everyone back home who has supported him.”

Doncic and the Lakers are in great shape as the postseason draws near, sitting at third in the West with a 48-26 record. They can clinch a playoff spot tonight if they beat the Washington Wizards and the Phoenix Suns lose to the Memphis Grizzlies. Doncic will miss the contest due to a one-game suspension for his 16th technical foul. Otherwise, he is more than ready to help lead the Lakers to the promised land.
