Notable NBA Players Participating In FIBA EuroBasket 2025

The NBA has certainly become more international as the years have gone by. As a matter of fact, a U.S.-born player hasn’t won MVP was James Harden back in the 2017-18 season. That is seen by the FIBA EuroBasket 2025 tournament, where numerous notable stars are taking part. EuroBasket is set to take part from August 27 until September 14. Here are six well-known players who are currently rostered by a nation that is taking part. Those six stars are listed in alphabetical order by last name. Some other notable players include Nikola Vucevic (Montenegro) and Zaccharie Risacher (France).

Giannis Antetokounmpo, Milwaukee Bucks – Greece

A back-to-back MVP winner in 2018-19 and 2019-20, Giannis Antetokounmpo won a title with the Bucks in the following season. He’s also is coming off a season where he averaged over 30 points for the third straight year. A two-way player, ‘The Greek Freak’ has finished top-nine in Defensive Player of the Year voting in seven consecutive seasons. Antetokounmpo has also averaged double figures in rebounds for the last eight years.

Luka Doncic, Los Angeles Lakers – Slovenia

Fresh off signing his three-year, $165 million extension with the Lakers, Luka Doncic will soon be suiting up for Slovenia. While the 26-year-old didn’t reach the minimum games played to qualify in 2024-25, he made the All-NBA first team the previous five years. In 2023-24, Doncic won a scoring title and helped guide the Mavericks to the NBA finals.

Nikola Jokic, Denver Nuggets – Serbia

A three-time MVP, Nikola Jokic has finished top-two in the voting each of the last five years. Remarkably, the 6-foot-11 center has already recorded 164 triple-doubles by the age of 30. He became the third player ever, and first center, to average a triple-double in a season. In 2023, Jokic was named Finals MVP after the Nuggets defeated the Heat.

Kristaps Porzingis, Atlanta Hawks – Latvia

A champion with the Celtics in 2024, Kristaps Porzingis will be playing for the Hawks in 2025-26. His scoring average of 19.5 in 2024-25 was the first time in his last seven years that he averaged less than 20. In spite of that, he connected on a career-best 41.2% of his three-point tries.

Alperen Sengun, Houston Rockets – Turkey

An All-Star for the first time in 2024-25, Alperen Sengun is still just 23 years old. An offensive fulcrum for the Rockets, he has averaged nearly five assists per contest over the last two years. With Kevin Durant now in tow, expect Sengun to get back to his normal scoring efficiency.

Franz Wagner, Orlando Magic – Germany

Now through four seasons with the Magic, Franz Wagner has shown improvement each year. He may have been heading to his first All-Star appearance last season, if not for a torn oblique. The soon-to-be 24-year old averaged career-highs across the board in 2024-25 with 24.2 points, 5.7 rebounds, 4.7 assists, and 1.3 steals.
