Jerome made headlines last season for his reliable play in Cleveland. He averaged 12.5 points, 2.5 rebounds and 3.4 assists per game. He shot a blistering 51.6% from the field and 43.9% on three-pointers. That production made him one of the premier bench players in the association.

When Lonzo Ball arrived via trade and Sam Merrill secured an extension, Jerome’s time in Cleveland was all but over . Marc Stein and Jake Fischer hinted Memphis could pounce. Where there’s smoke, there’s fire. Now the Grizzlies have completed Ty Jerome’s Deal.

Filling A Critical Shooting Void

The Grizzlies needed shooting after trading Desmond Bane during the NBA Finals and facing Luke Kennard’s likely exit. Jerome brings that in spades. He holds a career three-point average of 38.1% but soared to nearly 44% last season.

Ty Jerome should help the Grizzlies replace much of Bane’s floor-spacing impact.

Versatility On Offense

Jerome is more than a spot-up sniper. He worked well off the dribble and shot 57% on two-point attempts. His 60.6% effective field goal percentage nearly matched Kennard’s team-best mark for Grizzlies guards last season.

His ability to handle the ball makes him valuable as both a shooting threat and a secondary playmaker. Memphis expects Jerome’s skill set to unlock new options for Jaren Jackson Jr., who agreed his own massive $240 million extension moments into free agency.

Aiming To Climb The Western Ladder

The Grizzlies, swept by the Oklahoma City Thunder in the first round last season, know the Western Conference won’t get easier. But the front office hopes adding Jerome’s bench scoring and leadership will steady a reshaped roster.

Memphis last made a deep playoff push in 2022, reaching the second round. Ty Jerome’s deal signals a renewed push by the Grizzlies to reclaim that momentum.

A Fresh Start For Jerome

Jerome bounced around the league during his first five years. He played for four teams before finally finding consistency with Cleveland. Now, in Memphis, he’ll get another chance to thrive with a franchise that sees him as part of the solution.

Grizzlies Secure Ty Jerome on a Three-year Deal

NBA free agency officially opened on June 30 at 5 p.m. Teams can negotiate immediately but must wait until July 6 to sign new contracts. By striking fast, Memphis secured one of the league’s top bench guards before rival bidders could act.

Memphis fans will soon see if Ty Jerome’s deal helps push the Grizzlies back into serious contention out West.
