Baylor Bears wing Cameron Carr has demonstrated himself as one of the most athletic two-way wings in the 2026 NBA Draft. At around six-foot-five with a seven-foot-one wingspan, he blends athleticism, physical tools, and skill to be a player who can affect both ends of the floor. As a prospect, Carr profiles as a highly talented slasher and shooter who can score on all three levels. He is also a skilled defender who can block shots at a high level for his position.
While he has his warts, Carr can be the type of prospect who could be an extremely valuable rotation player for an NBA team. Let’s dive into the best overall fits for Carr among the various teams in the first round of the 2026 NBA Draft.
Best Fits For Baylor Guard Cameron Carr In The 2026 NBA Draft
Charlotte Hornets
A partnership between Carr and the Charlotte Hornets would be a match made in heaven in terms of skill and team fit. The Hornets need additional size and defense on the wings, both of which Carr can provide. He can bring the necessary athleticism to defend the wings while also showing potential as a weakside shot-blocker. Next to guys like LaMelo Ball and Kon Knueppel, Carr slots in nicely as an athletic defender who can handle tougher defensive assignments.
Carr is an even better fit with the Hornets on the offensive end. As one of the best three-point shooting teams, with Knueppel as the NBA leader in three-point makes, Carr’s excellent shooting would not look out of place. He would only strengthen Charlotte’s offense, while also providing a different dynamic as an athletic finisher. His athleticism would give the Hornets another player who can provide slashing and gravity as a lob threat.
For Carr, the Hornets would truly be a team that would maximize his talent and skills. With a high-level playmaker like Ball, Carr would get plenty of easy scoring opportunities that he did not see as the main man at Baylor. The level of three-point shooting would also help open up the floor for Carr on his drives.
Los Angeles Lakers
Another team that can use Carr’s services is the Los Angeles Lakers. They desperately need more shooting, defense, and wing depth on the roster around Luka Doncic and Austin Reaves. Well, Carr can bring great shooting and defensive potential on the wings, giving Los Angeles a real wing who can have an impact on either end.
For a team with great drivers and shot creators like Doncic, Reaves, and potentially LeBron James, Carr has the shooting to help open up the floor for them. He can also be a versatile shooter for the Lakers, as he can both spot-up and shoot off of movement. His slashing and athleticism provide the Lakers with a different level of verticality and speed that they didn’t have among their current role players.
Similar to his Charlotte fits, Carr would thrive in Los Angeles next to excellent playmakers like Doncic, Reaves, and James. All three of them have the vision and ability to find Carr on the floor and make sure he will get plenty of open shots. He will feast on the number of open three-pointers he will get. Next to James in particular, Carr will get to run fast-breaks next to one of the best transition players of all time, finding easy scoring opportunities there as well. While the Lakers do not have the same level of shooting as Charlotte, they have multiple shooters like Doncic, Reaves, and Rui Hachimura to open up the floor for Carr’s drives.
Chicago Bulls
The Chicago Bulls are a team that also needs what Carr provides as a player. Much like the other two teams, the Bulls can use additional shooting and athleticism on the wings for their team. The team simply lacks a wing who has solid size on the perimeter who can also knock down shots from beyond the arc. Unlike a wing-sized player such as Isaac Okoro, Carr has demonstrated the ability to score the ball at a high level as a slasher and shooter. Carr would certainly have a defined role for him on the Bulls, given his skill set.
While not on the same level of playmaking as players like Ball or Doncic, the Bulls have a capable lead guard in Josh Giddey, who can help Carr find easy shots within the flow of Chicago’s offense. Chicago also has plenty of talented guards like Collin Sexton and Anfernee Simons, who can also create great looks for Carr as well. Defensively, the Bulls have multiple taller forwards who can help Carr by taking on bigger wings and forwards.
