Abdou Toure, an elite four-star wing in the 2026 class from Connecticut, has named a top three that includes some big-time programs. Per Joe Tipton of On3/Rivals, the 6-foot-5 Toure will consider Arkansas, Providence and UConn. What’s more, Toure plans to make his college decision known on Friday, Oct. 3.
Elite 4-Star Wing Names Big Top 3, Sets Decision Date
Last month, Toure disclosed a top seven of Arkansas, Florida State, Louisville, Maryland, Oregon, Providence and UConn. With his latest list cut, he has eliminated Florida State, Louisville, Maryland and Oregon from contention.
Throughout his recruiting process, the top-35 national prospect has obtained more than 20 scholarship offers from teams such as Providence, Connecticut, Arkansas, Florida State, Stanford, Mississippi State, Oregon, Penn State, Alabama, Louisville, Rutgers, Syracuse, Maryland, Pittsburgh, Washington, Texas A&M and Cincinnati, among others.
Toure has visited all three of his finalists. At the time of writing, the Rivals Recruiting Prediction Machine had Providence out in front for Toure, although some analysts have said UConn could be perceived as the potential front-runner for him, too.
4-Star with Top 3 Set for Dominant Senior Season
Toure is a standout at Notre Dame High School in West Haven, Conn. In the upcoming campaign, Notre Dame will eye its third consecutive state championship. The Green Knights, led by Toure, went 27-2 overall and were the No. 1 team in Connecticut during the 2024-25 season, according to MaxPreps.
As a junior, Toure averaged 25.2 points, 6.5 rebounds, 3.3 assists and 2.3 steals per game. He received multiple Connecticut player of the year awards, and Toure resided on the MaxPreps junior All-America third team. Looking ahead to 2025-26, Toure will be a significant contender for Connecticut player of the year honors yet again, and he could make a run at next spring’s annual showcases such as the McDonald’s All-American Game.
From a 2026 rankings perspective, the industry-generated 247Sports Composite places Toure at No. 33 overall, No. 14 at small forward and No. 1 in Connecticut. Over at the industry-generated Rivals Industry Ranking, he is No. 31 nationally, No. 14 at small forward and No. 1 in Connecticut.
UConn is Heavy for 4-star Wing and Others

Should Toure choose the Huskies, it would be the first verbal pledge for head coach Dan Hurley and his program, which has won two of the past three national championships. At the same time, UConn coaches are heavily involved with other highly ranked 2026 prospects. One is four-star guard Junior County out of the Wasatch Academy in Mount Pleasant, Utah. The 6-foot-4 point guard/shooting guard is officially visiting the Huskies this weekend.
Earlier this month, UConn hosted 2026 five-star guard and top-five national prospect Dylan Mingo on an official visit. The 6-foot-5 Mingo, out of Long Island Lutheran High School in Brookville, N.Y., is taking an official visit to Penn State this weekend.
A few days ago, 2026 four-star small forward and top-30 national prospect Cole Cloer disclosed a final five of Alabama, Florida, North Carolina, N.C. State and UConn. Two weeks ago, the 6-foot-7 Cloer went on an official visit to the Huskies. He is a senior at the IMG Academy in Bradenton, Fla.
Next weekend, according to 247Sports, 2026 four-star wing Colben Landrew will take an official visit to UConn. The 6-foot-6 Landrew, a top-20 national prospect in the senior cycle, attends Wheeler High School in Marietta, Ga., near Atlanta.
