LeBron James Adds To Legend With 50K Milestone

Los Angeles Lakers superstar LeBron James entered Tuesday night’s game against the New Orleans Pelicans needing just one point to become the first player in NBA history with 50,000 career points. With his first field goal attempt of the game, he scored three. Already the league’s all-time leader in career points, James continues to add to his unparalleled resume.

That being said, for many, the debate about who’s the greatest basketball player of all-time is too ubiquitous. Nevertheless, for all the discussion about San Antonio Spurs center Victor Wembanyama, the chances of fans ever seeing another player like James are also slim to none.

LeBron James Adds To Legend With 50K Milestone

At 40 years old, James is the oldest player in the league. He’s played more minutes than anyone and more games than all but two players. However, his longevity isn’t the only reason that he ranks first in career points, fourth in career assists, sixth in career steals, seventh in career 3-pointers.

He’s basketball prodigy, seemingly born with a feel for the game that’s become his hallmark. He’s a rare athlete with a prototypical physique and excellent durability. He also has an insatiable thirst for greatness, inspired by his idols and the determination to elevate his family’s status.

Now, he’s a 21-time NBA All-Star; a league record. He’s a four-time NBA champion and four-time NBA MVP — just one of four players with at least four of each. Of those players —a list that features Michael Jordan, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, and Bill Russell —he’s considered the most well-rounded.

Statistical milestones aren’t all the game is about. Really, even winning isn’t all the game is about. Nonetheless, James is now arguably the most decorated player of all-time, and that counts for something.
