It’s Ant Man’s World We’re Just Living In It

Anthony Edwards is quickly becoming an NBA superstar and a face of the league.

After the dunk heard around the world last week it is hard to not know who Anthony Edwards is. A rising star in the league and one of the anchors of one of the Minnesota Timberwolves. One of the youngest teams in the league who are fighting for a top-four spot in the Western Conference. Edwards has them in prime position as one of the biggest threats to the Denver Nuggets repeating as champions. Edwards has established himself as a future face of the NBA.

It’s Ant Man’s World We’re Just Living In It

When Minnesota drafted Edwards as the number one pick in the 2020 NBA Draft, one knock on his game was that he did not have a consistent jump shot yet. In his third year in the league, he has the highest field goal percentage of his career at 46.7% and is making a career-high 37.4% of his three-pointers.  His jump shot is still a work in progress, but his athleticism is out of this world. Edwards has made the Timberwolves a must watch team in a Western Conference currently being dominated by them and the Oklahoma City Thunder. Whether it’s on the court or on the big screen Ant Man has the charisma to carry the league. Especially when LeBron James, Stephen Curry, Kevin Durant, Nikola Jokic, Joel Embiid, and Giannis Antetokounmpo retire.

The Timberwolves Title Window

The Timberwolves are a team with not many weaknesses, they are one of the best defensive and rebounding teams in the league. The only thing that can really defeat them is themselves if they can decrease their mental mistakes, they can make it to the Western Conference Playoffs. Edwards developing a more consistent jump shot has opened up more high-percentage shot opportunities for his teammates. That has made Minnesota a defensive nightmare for their opponents.

Additionally, it has them as a title contender and a championship threat to the Denver Nuggets, Phoenix Suns, and Golden State Warriors. Their hope for a big playoff run relies on Karl Anthony Towns’ health. As he takes the scoring load off of Edwards. Towns is averaging 22.1 points per game and 8.4 rebounds per game. KAT is a free agent at the end of this season, so the Timberwolves will need to extend him.  He is the perfect player to pair with Ant-Man and the championship window for Minnesota is wide open as long as  Edwards stays in Minnesota.

Anthony Edwards Is A Superstar

In his third year in the league, Edwards has made basketball exciting again in Minneapolis, MN. Something that has not been done since Kevin Garnett and Latrell Sprewell were in Timberwolves green. He has them looking like a championship contender for at least the next two seasons. If Edwards continues to be pleased with the way the team is built around him, a championship parade could be in the future for Timberwolves fans. The league is at its best when the teams in the Midwest are good it adds to the excitement of the league. As long as Edwards is happy a title and further ascent into superstardom are within grasp.
