Fabber’s Believe It or Not, Should Be, Could Be and Week 5

See how many people can relate to this feeling. I am watching a game when my fantasy running back breaks a huge run for 60 yards but gets caught on the five yard line. While he is walking back to the huddle the coach sends in another running back to get the next carry and the touchdown. Here comes the insane disappointment that some might qualify as anger issues. Do not act like you do not know what I am talking about out there. The yelling, pleading, I mean out right begging to the coach to let your man score and put your fantasy team on easy street to the win.

So there is all this talk about rule changes, I figured we should tell the NFL what we need from them to make this game even better (if that is possible).

Rule one is if a running back carries the load on a series they get the red zone carries. It is only fair and I am sure that the running backs would agree with me here. They worked hard to get there, let them finish it. That is how life should be, get what you work for.

Rule two is if a wide receiver gets tackled within three yards to the goal line it is an automatic score. Not only is this great for fantasy owners but it will prevent some of the scary hits and injuries. Longer careers means more years on your fantasy roster. The win-win if you know what I mean.

Rule three is no Quarterback kneeling. I like this rule for a couple different reasons. First it prevents the loss yards of the QB or offense, which I have first hand seen this cost people games. Second it rewards defenses for losing, not cool. Last is how many times do you need a couple more points from a wide receiver, running back or quarterback and they do not give them the opportunity to do it. Remember most of these players get bonuses for doing better, so you know they want the chances to achieve those stats.

Rule four no field goals. Hold on, relax and listen. Settling for a field goal is the biggest sign of mediocrity. It is settling and we say all the time, do not settle. Also last I checked six points is worth more and helps my win more. Sure it will cut down on concussions and other pointless injuries as well, but it will help fantasy as well.

Rule five is no extra points. You have the same health concerns as field goals. Also this will force teams to go for two points and gives the important positions more chances at getting points. That one point for a kicker just turned into five or six points for your team. Boom, the loss turns into win and a happy week.

Ok, now it’s your turn! Tell me what rule changes would you like to see in the game that could have a huge impact on fantasy football and rosters everywhere? Do not hold back, this is your turn to be heard. Ready? GO!

So week 4 was pretty good for us here but if you don’t believe me here is a recap.

So we missed a couple of big games but still pretty good here at LWOS but enough of patting ourselves on the back, its time for week 5. It is a big week for fantasy teams and I am sure we will have some panicking owners come Tuesday. Well they might have good reason to, so let’s make sure we are not on that list.

Week 5 here we go!

Believes

QBs
Ben Roethlisberger PIT, 24 points: He is starting to really find a flow with these guys and is surrounded with talent. He will torch them this Sunday but they might not win. Jacksonville has one of the worst pass defenses and the Steelers love to sling the pigskin.

Russell Wilson SEA, 23 points: Did you see Washington’s defense get carved up by Eli Manning? Well Wilson had two weeks to prepare for that same defense. Good luck hogs.

Cam Newton CAR, 21 points: I know risky play but the Bears defense might be the worse it has ever been. I believe this week we will see Cam of old and if we don’t I am sure I will receive enough hate mail to never pick him again.

RBs
Darren Sproles PHI, 15 Points: LeSean McCoy is not getting it done this year and I am not sure he will snap out of it. I am sure Chip Kelly will go back to run early and often. This will get Sproles back to being a good fantasy play.

Andre Ellington ARI, 14 points: The extra week of rest will help his ailing foot and Denver is not the best run defense this year. They will use him in the pass game as well and I look for him to get into the end zone as well. A pleasant surprise for all those dedicated owners out there.

Reggie Bush DET, 12 points: He is a classic matchup play and this week I like his matchup. He will be used in space and that should get him double digit points. Those points are the best you should expect from Bush this year.

WRs
Brian Quick STL, 15 points: I am finally a believer in this player. He has a way to get a big play a game and sometimes that’s all you need. Oh yea he is playing the Eagles, enough said.

Victor Cruz NYG, 14 points: He finally gets the offense and more important his quarterback gets it now. If you can buy this player do it. He has some great matchups coming up.

Marques Colston NO, 12 points: Of course he makes me nervous but knowing the coach, Drew Brees and this player I expect a big game this week. The Saints turnaround starts now.

TEs
Delanie Walker TEN, 13 points: He will be targeted six or more times every week. This week I love the matchup and after last week I expect a more conservative play calling.

Heath Miller PIT, 12 points: He is getting it and you can only guard so many players. The other team is focusing on stopping Bell and Brown and Heath is taking advantage of it, It will continue this week at least.

DEFs
Eagles 16 points

Green Bay 14 points

Kickers
Shayne Graham NO, 12 points

Josh Brown NYG, 10 points

NOTs

QBs
Colin Kaepernick SF, 17 Points: They will run and run more. I do not trust him or the players around him. Until he shows he can do this week in week out we all can find better matchups.

Tony Romo DAL, 16 points: The offense is run and run more. That recipe might win some games but it does not help Romo in fantasy points. This is a run game means leave him on your bench.

RBs
Donald Brown SD, 9 points: Any time your team brings in other running backs or tell the press they will split carries with another back it isn’t good for fantasy value. He doesn’t have the quick first step we saw last year and is not comfortable running in San Diego yet.

Trent Richardson IND, 7 points: Everyone who owned Richardson should have sold him right after last game. He isn’t the guy we thought he was and he will continue to disappoint us all.

WRs
Pierre Garcon WSH, 8 points: Last week was a wreck and if it was an established quarterback I would say forget it. Cousins is not a veteran in the league yet and I am not sure he can bounce back this week. Oh yea and they are play Seattle with two weeks to prepare.

Eric Decker NYJ, 7 points: He is not near 100% and his quarterback is second guessing himself every play. That is a fantasy recipe for disaster and I want no part of it.

TEs
Travis Kelce KC, 8 points: I know he is coming around and Coach Reid loves him but this isn’t the week. San Francisco doesn’t give up much to tight ends. Last week they made Ertz look like he was not even playing. This might be the best time for you to rest him if you have a better option at that position.

DEFs
Texans 8 points

Broncos 7 points

Kickers
Stephen Gostkowski NE, 5 points

Kai Forbath WSH, 4 points
