In a Word is a week in sports recap column that recaps the major stories of the past week– in just one word.
Unfortunately this past week was highlighted by domestic and child abuse stories in the NFL. This was one of if not the darkest weeks in the history of the NFL. It was highlighted by Roger Goodells mishandling of the Ray Rice abuse scandal and then capped off with the indictment of Adrian Peterson on a charge of child negligent injury.
Week of Horror in the NFL – In a Word
We can only hope that future weeks in sports will be better. We should hope that the NFL gets its act together and deals with domestic abuse seriously.
Ray Rice – Violent
Roger Goodell – Fool
Floyd Mayweather – Abusive
Adrian Peterson – Switch
Paul George – Moron
RG3 – Hurt
Chris Davis – Banned
Greg Hardy – Deactivated
USA FIBA – Champions
NHL – Diveless
Minnesota Wild – Nino
In the next couple of days we will find out what the Minnesota Vikings and the NFL will do with Adrian Peterson. As far as the NFL, and Commissioner Roger Goodell is concerned next week can’t be any worse than this past week, can it?
That’s it for this week. Visit us next week for another In a Word sports recap.
