Fantasy Running Back Rankings 15-11

#15 Andre Ellington

Year Age Team G R-Att Yards TD Avg Rec Yards Avg TD Tar Fum Fum lost
2013 24 Ari 15 118 652 3 5.5 39 371 9.5 1 58 1 0

Andre Ellington had a good rookie season, and showed a lot of promise despite splitting carries with Rashad Mendenhall. No running back had a higher frequency of rushes over 10 yards than Ellington last year, and only Darren Sproles lined up as a receiver more. With Mendenhall now retired, Ellington is the clear starter in Arizona, and should see the ball quite a bit as a result. His explosive rushing and catching ability make the comparisons to Jamaal Charles no surprise as a result. Don’t expect him to be running between the tackles much or getting many goal line touches, but Ellington is a great young runner who offers great value and upside in the 5th round of 10 team leagues.

#14 Le’Veon Bell

Year Age Team G R-Att Yards TD Avg Rec Yards Avg TD Tar Fum Fum lost
2013 21 Pit 13 244 860 8 3.5 45 399 8.9 0 66 1 1

Yes he missed the first three games last year. Yes he only rushed for 66 yards per game. Yes he only had 3.5 yards per carry last season. You can tell me why this player should have red flag around him but I can tell you I would love for this guy to be my RB2 on any fantasy team. He had over 1,000 yards of offense in 13 games. He is involved in the passing game and the running game, being targeted 66 times last year while have over 244 attempts on the ground. If you do the math that’s over 300 touches in 13 games, WOW. He is heavily involved in the offense and that continue to grow as he does. Give him three more games and a year under his belt in the NFL and expect big things.

#13 Doug Martin

Year Age Team G R-Att Yards TD Avg Rec Yards Avg TD Tar Fum Fum lost
2012 23 TB 16 319 1454 11 4.6 49 472 9.6 1 70 1 1
2013 24 TB 6 127 456 1 3.6 12 66 5.5 0 24 2 1

Most fans drafted Martin late first/early second round last year and labeled him as a bust because of poor numbers and a season ending injury. In six games last year, Martin rumbled to 456 yards which made him well on his way to another 1,000 yard season and in the two games that he averaged less than 4.0 yards per carry, he faced stout defenses in the Jets and Cardinals. You could chalk up the bust label to a failing coaching staff and an on-the-job rookie quarterback, but this year should be much different and Martin could be looking at top 10 RB numbers by seasons end.

#12 Alfred Morris

Year Age Team G R-Att Yards TD Avg Rec Yards Avg TD Tar Fum Fum lost
2012 23 Was 16 335 1613 13 4.8 11 77 7 0 16 4 3
2013 24 Was 16 276 1275 7 4.6 9 78 8.7 0 12 5 4

After two productive seasons in Washington Morris is our 12th ranked RB.  With his numbers rushing the only thing holding him back are his receptions.  He has only 20 combined over two seasons. If he can continue his YPC and get into the end zone he is a nice catch in the second round.  His numbers may improve with a healthy QB and the addition of D. Jackson at WR.  The added threats may open up some running lanes for Morris.

#11 Giovani Bernard

Year Age Team G R-Att Yards TD Avg Rec Yards Avg TD Tar Fum Fum lost
2013 21 Cin 16 170 695 5 4.1 56 514 9.2 3 71 1 1

Bernard had a strong rookie season rushing for over 600 yards and having more than 500 yards receiving, adding 8 touchdowns along the way. While last year he was in a committee with Ben Jarvis Green Ellis, Bernard will be looking to take a more featured role. If he can see off Green- Ellis Bernard is a strong fantasy prospect and should go in the second round in most formats
