Fantasy Wide Receiver Rankings 10-6
#10 Keenan Allen
Year | Age | Team | G | REC | Yards | TD | Tar | Fum | Fum lost |
2013 | 21 | SD | 15 | 71 | 1046 | 8 | 104 | 2 | 2 |
Keenan Allen was a hot waiver pick up between weeks 4 and 6 in 2013. In his first three weeks, he had 3 receptions for 30 yards. In the following five games, he had 31 receptions for 497 yards and 3 TD’s. Allen exploded onto the fantasy scene, as QB Philip Rivers had discovered a new weapon and frequently used it. Allen continued to produce good WR2 numbers for the rest of the season, and in the divisional round of the playoffs in Denver, Keenan Allen torched Denver’s secondary en route to 6 receptions for 142 yards and 2 TD’s in a narrow loss. Allen grew tremendously in his ROOKIE season with San Diego, and we expect bigger growth heading into year two. Allen should top his rookie numbers of 1046 yards and 8 TD’s with Rivers delivering him the ball early and often. Don’t be surprised if Allen finishes with over 1300 yards and 10 TD’s, and we believe he is a top 10 WR.

#9 Vincent Jackson
Year | Age | Team | G | REC | Yards | TD | Tar | Fum | Fum lost |
2011 | 28 | SD | 16 | 60 | 1106 | 9 | 115 | 0 | 0 |
2012 | 29 | TB | 16 | 72 | 1384 | 8 | 147 | 0 | 0 |
2013 | 30 | TB | 16 | 78 | 1224 | 7 | 159 | 1 | 0 |
Vincent Jackson is to me one of the scariest top ten wide receivers and not in the good way. Jackson has put up solid numbers over the last three years, so the ranking is well deserved. My fear is he has little supporting cast around him. But, this may lead to another 150 target season. That should make me feel good, right? However the quarterback play, although it should be better than last year, is still bottom third at very best. The yardage and catches may be there again this year but with a weak offense the TDs could continue to drop.

#8 Alshon Jeffery
Year | Age | Team | G | REC | Yards | TD | Tar | Fum | Fum lost |
2012 | 22 | Chi | 10 | 24 | 367 | 3 | 48 | 0 | 0 |
2013 | 23 | Chi | 16 | 89 | 1421 | 7 | 149 | 3 | 1 |
The South Carolina standout has made a lot of progress over the last two years in the league. A similar form of Cordarrelle Patterson, Jeffery can take off in a heartbeat. He tallied seven touchdowns last season; a number that could and should easily increase this seasons. Jeffery is definitely a young, explosive threat to have in your lineup.

#7 Jordy Nelson
Year | Age | Team | G | REC | Yards | TD | Tar | Fum | Fum lost |
2011 | 26 | GB | 16 | 68 | 1263 | 15 | 96 | 0 | 0 |
2012 | 27 | GB | 12 | 49 | 745 | 7 | 73 | 0 | 0 |
2013 | 28 | GB | 16 | 85 | 1314 | 8 | 127 | 0 | 0 |
Last year worries about Nelson’s offseason knee surgery pushed him down draft boards, and provided fantasy owners with tremendous value. Nelson often gets overlooked when discussing the elite wide receivers, but his combination of size and speed is rare. In addition, he greatly benefits from playing with one of the best quarterbacks in the league, who heavily targets Nelson, especially in the red-zone. Nelson is a great consolation prize for those that miss out on the “Big 6” of Calvin, Dez, Demaryius, A.J, Julio and Marshall. Draft him comfortably as a WR1.

#6 Brandon Marshall
Year | Age | Team | G | REC | Yards | TD | Tar | Fum | Fum lost |
2011 | 27 | Mia | 16 | 81 | 1214 | 6 | 141 | 1 | 1 |
2012 | 28 | Chi | 16 | 118 | 1508 | 11 | 193 | 2 | 0 |
2013 | 29 | Chi | 16 | 100 | 1295 | 12 | 164 | 0 | 0 |
Marshall has matured into one of the most consistent fantasy WRs in the NFL. He was a solid #1 WR pick in 2013 and will be so again this season. Marshall broke the double-digit point mark in nine of 16 games last season, and scored 9 points in three others. Greatest strength: great chemistry with Jay Cutler and one of the best pairs of hands in the NFL. Biggest weakness: none, really, at this point. Grab him anywhere after the 15th overall pick, if he’s still on the board.
