Fantasy Wide Receiver Rankings 30-26

#30 Sammy Watkins – R

Buffalo bound Sammy Watkins has found himself in a position to elevate the Bills from a forgettable past decade. The brass has already installed Watkins as the no. 1 receiver in the roster depth chart which leaves teammates Robert Woods and Mike Williams picking up scraps behind him. What Watkins did in Clemson is astonishing; blasting through defenders on bubble screens, stretching the field with his speed, and footwork on the field. We’d love to see a continuation of his remarkable skill set in September, but he might be met with expected complications. EJ Manuel struggled to piece together a decent season and ultimately battled injuries throughout the year. The spot at the helm is a murky situation and if there is a rocky road to production this year, it won’t be at the hands of our rookie.

Casey Bowman – @LWOSCaseyBow

#29 Mike Wallace

Mike Wallace had a good if unspectacular first season ranking 25^th in fantasy for wide receivers. Posting over 900 yards and 5 touchdowns Wallace represents value as a WR2. Wallace should also be in for a better second year in Miami. The Dolphins making improvements on the offensive line that should allow quarterback Ryan Tannehill more time to pick out the former Pittsburgh Steeler.

Robert Mitchell – @LWOSRob

#28 Terrance Williams

Despite Miles Austin taking much of the snaps last year, and having to compete with Dez Bryant and Jason Witten for targets, Williams had a very good rookie year. Williams showed the ability to beat cornerbacks down the field, and provided Romo with another vertical threat. This year, pass heavy Scott Linehan will be taking over the play calling duties in Dallas, which will be beneficial for Williams. In addition to the pass-heavy offense, the Cowboys defense will once again be historically bad, likely forcing the Cowboys to pass late in games. I expect Williams’ targets to greatly increase, making him a good bet to top 1000 yards receiving this year.

#27 Jeremy Maclin

After tearing his ACL early in training camp in 2013 and missing the entire 2013-2014 regular season, Jeremy Maclin is now back. Much has changed since Maclin last played in a game; he witnessed the departure of his former coach Andy Reid and the arrival of the team’s new offensive mastermind Chip Kelly. That’s not all; the Eagles also parted ways with their former number one wide receiver Desean Jackson. During his healthy 2012 campaign, he had 69 catches for 857 yards and seven touchdowns. Maclin has averaged 860 yards in his four seasons in the league. So with all of this being said, 2014 looks to be the year Maclin finally surpasses 1000 yards as he has yet to hit that milestone. The team is looking for a number one wide receiver after the departure of Jackson and Maclin is will be that guy. He should lead the team in targets, and though Maclin isn’t the prototypical number one wide receiver at only 6’0”, 198 lbs, he has the speed and direction to make big things happen after the catch. This is what makes him such a good player. Maclin should have a career year with this offense.

Matt Abrams – @Matty_ICE07

#26 Marques Colston

The numbers slipped a little last year, but really he was one big game away from posting similar numbers he has had over the past few years.  Oh, ya he missed one game.  He was slowed by injuries and showed that once he was healthy he still has it.  This is the classic guy that will slip because he had an off year and he is on the wrong side of 30. He is surely capable of putting up strong WR2 numbers and even has a chance to break top 12 WRs in the always high octane Saints offense.  He is currently 30^th ADP of WR on ESPN (8/13/14).  Take him before that and enjoy the production of a #2 WR for the price of a #3 WR.
