Fantasy Football Tight End Rankings

#20 Garrett Graham

Year Age Team G REC Yrds TD Tar Fum Fum lost
2011 24 Hou 7 1 24 0 2 0 0
2012 25 Hou 15 28 263 3 39 0 0
2013 26 Hou 13 49 545 5 89 2 1

New Texans coach Bill O’Brien was on the Patriots staff when Rob Gronkowski and Aaron Hernandez were causing havoc for opposing defenses. Reports out of Texans training camps indicate that Graham will be used as the “move” tight end in a similar fashion to Aaron Hernandez’ role in New England. Graham is an extremely intriguing prospect this year, and if used correctly could post incredible numbers.

#19 Delanie Walker

Year Age Team G REC Yrds TD Tar Fum Fum lost
2011 26 SF 15 19 198 3 35 0 0
2012 27 SF 16 21 344 3 39 1 1
2013 28 Ten 15 60 571 6 86 1 0

When QB Jake Locker’s year-ending foot injury struck, Ryan Fitzpatrick stepped in and discovered Delanie Walker. At a flat 6 foot, Walker isn’t your typical TE. He depends on his former position as a WR to stomp out routes, create separation, and increase the yards per catch. He isn’t reliable as an every week starter, especially with the absence of Fitzpatrick, but it would behoove the coaching staff to create ways to get him the ball. Alternately, if you haven’t been paying attention, the Titans have some up and coming receiving talent that could render Walker an afterthought. Be sure to commandeer Walker with back-up intentions.

#18 Eric Ebron – R

The 10th overall pick in the 2014 draft by the Detroit Lions could be one of the more valuable fantasy rookies in the 2014 draft class. At 6”4 the former North Carolina Tight End offers a good target to Matthew Stafford and could gain space when star receiver Calvin Johnson and free agent pick up Golden Tate draw attention. A back up with upside Ebron has the potential, and is in a team that can help him realise it, to put up numbers worthy of a starter.

#17 Tyler Eifert

Year Age Team G REC Yrds TD Tar Fum Fum lost
2013 22 Cin 15 39 445 2 59 0 0

Tyler Eifert had an understated rookie season. 445 yards and two touchdowns is a decent return for his first year. Splitting time with 4th year veteran Jermaine Gresham, who himself had 461 yards and four touchdowns, somewhat limited Eifert’s production. Eifert however does have potential moving forward. He is a big mobile target who has all the skills to be a break out fantasy player in 2014. Drafting as a backup with upside Eifert will be a good bye week player who if he can stave off competition from Gresham could be a sleeper.

#16 Heath Miller

Year Age Team G REC Yrds TD Tar Fum Fum lost
2011 28 Pit 16 51 631 2 75 1 1
2012 29 Pit 15 71 816 8 101 0 0
2013 30 Pit 14 58 593 1 78 1 1

Last year, Heath Miller was coming off a complete tear of his knee, yet only missed two games. Miller logged 59 catches and was yet again a steady target for Big Ben. Miller should be fully healthy heading into the 2014 campaign, and will likely be able to improve upon his career low 10.2 yards per reception. Miller is an aging tight end with limited upside, but is a steady pass catcher. He is not a starter in fantasy, but is a solid bye-week replacement.
