Building your farm system is important, and OOTP knows that, as they allow you to manage all of the minor league teams affiliated with your organization. You can take control of the personnel on the farm teams, and try to build a solid group of prospects to become big league stars in the future.
Of course, building a successful baseball team is not just about the players you have on your team. It is about how those players play on the field. OOTP lets you also take control of the manager’s job. In each game, you can set your team’s lineup, set the defensive alignment, control substitutions, tell your pitchers how to handle each individual batter, and tell your batters how to play each individual at-bat. With OOTP 15, you can manage everything your team does on the field.
Out of the Park Baseball has to be the most in-depth baseball game I have ever played. The amount of control that you have, and the level of realism in all of the decisions you have to make, is incredible. There are so many things that would go into being the GM of a baseball team, between players, personnel, on-field performance, the team’s budget, and the development of future players.
