Maybe you can go home again, at least that’s what Brandon Lloyd is hoping. The free agent wide receiver has signed a one-year contract with the San Francisco 49ers, the team that drafted him in the fourth round of the 2003 NFL Draft, and where he spent the first three seasons of his NFL career.

Lloyd left San Francisco when he was traded to the Washington Redskins after leading the 49ers in receiving in the 2005 NFL season. He would also spend time with the Chicago Bears, St. Louis Rams and Denver Broncos before signing with the New England Patriots in 2012.
Lloyd made 74 receptions for 911 yards with New England in 2012. However, Lloyd did not play a snap last season. The Patriots would eventually release him, and rumors of him being a problem in the locker room have seemingly kept teams away from Lloyd.
The soon to be 33-year-old looks like he will be battling Quinton Patton for the #3 Wide Reciever spot on the 49ers depth chart behind Michael Crabtree and Anquan Boldin next season.
Floyd’s best season came in 2010 with the Broncos when he caught 77 passes for 1,448 yards with Kyle Orton as the starting quarterback.
