Last Word on Memes: John Scott, Occupation Sniper

In his 200th NHL game, and 195 games after he scored his first NHL goal, Sabres tough guy John Scott has his second career goal.

The goal came in the first period of the Sabres game against the Toronto Maple Leafs. Scott fired a wrist shot past Jonathan Bernier, giving the Sabres a 2-0 lead.

Scott’s first goal came in 2009-10, his rookie season with the Minnesota Wild, and was scored against the Carolina Hurricanes.

The goal is ironic in that Scott was involved in a much publicized incident with Phil Kessel in pre-season, in which Kessel was suspended for some preseason games and former Sabres coach Ron Rolston was fined for putting Scott on the ice after a fight.

Scott is one of only five players in NHL history to play 200 games and have two goals or less in the NHL. The others are Brad Brown, Christian LaFlamme, Don Spring and David Harlock. All have scored two goals, except for Spring who only scored one.
