Bryce Enyard, Barnstormers

The Iowa Barnstormers announced on Thursday afternoon that defensive back Bryce Enyard would be returning to the roster for the 2018 Indoor Football League (IFL) season.

Enyard, a former Northwest Missouri State Bearcat, joined the Barnstormers after earning an invite through an open-tryout.

“The best thing about returning to the Iowa Barnstormers is that I get to play in front of the best fans in the IFL, play for some of the best staff, and hopefully be with some of the best players in the IFL to make another run at the title,” Enyard said in a release.

The Huntsville, MO native finished his 2017 year with two interceptions and 80 tackles, helping the Barnstormers to their first United Conference Championship game.

Now, the second-year player returns to coach Dixie Wooten’s squad for next season.

“Last year, indoor football was different for me,” Enyard said in the release. “I got a year of experience in, so when the season starts I won’t have to adapt into something new. I’ll be able to just play and know what’s coming.”

The IFL schedule will come out later in the year, after the league concludes it’s annual league meetings.

The Barnstormers also announced that they would be hosting an open-tryout, similar to the one that landed Enyard on the team, on November 4 in Pella, IA. Players wishing to play can register with a $50 fee in advance and a $60 fee upon entree.

Other signing news

In other signing news, former Barnstormer OL Dangelo McCray signed with the Richmond Roughriders of the American Arena League on Thursday, postponing his retirement for at least the 2018 season.

McCray was the unit’s captain in 2017 and helped lead Iowa to a 13-3 record in the regular season, and eventual playoff run under first year coach Dixie Wooten.
