After 18 weeks and 14 games played, four teams have advanced to the Arena Football League (AFL) playoffs.
Two semifinal games will be played and the winners of each game will advance to Arena Bowl 30.
The First playoff game will be played on Saturday between the Baltimore Brigade at Philadelphia Soul.
During the 2017 AFL season, the Brigade and soul have squared off four times.
In three of the four games that were played, Philadelphia Defeated Baltimore.
Though, Baltimore is looking to rewrite history in their favor, entering the postseason.
Philadelphia Soul host Baltimore Brigade in AFL Playoffs
Coming into the playoffs the Brigade’s record is 4-10 and is currently ranked at number four. Baltimore is coming in as the only expansion team in the playoffs.
Quarterback Shane Boyd of the Baltimore Brigade played in the week 17 meeting. However, due to injury, he did not play.
In his place was Shane Carden, who went 25/32, 258 YDS, 5 TD’s, 2 INT.
On Defense, Robert Hayes led the Brigade defense with a sack and three tackles. As for special teams, Kicker Patrick Clarke converted 9/10 PAT’s during the week 17 game.
Throughout the playoffs, the Philadelphia Soul will have home-field advantage this season, being the number one seed. Now, the Soul are entering week 19 (playoffs) with a 13-1 record.
Quarterback Dan Raudabaugh and head coach Client Dolezel have been clicking on all cylinders especially against the Baltimore Brigade.
In the week 17 game against the Baltimore Brigade, Raudabaugh had an impressive start, and ended up throwing 17-28, 207 yards 5 TD, 0 INT.
On the defensive side of the ball, Dwayne Hollis intercepted Patrick Clarke 2 times and took it back for not one, but two touchdowns for a total of 47 yards.
Beau Bell, Ted Jennings, and Justin Lawrence all had a hand at sacking Clarke for a total of three sacks, and will try to do it again Saturday afternoon.
