The Iowa Barnstormers defeated the Colorado Crush 33-21 on Saturday Night at Wells Fargo Arena.
The win advanced the Barnstormers to a 7-2 record. That is the team’s best start since 1996.

The team celebrated First Responder’s night with alternate, blue-and-red jerseys that were auctioned off after the game.
Colorado stopped the Barnstormers at the goal line on the first drive of the game and got on the board first as they kicked a field goal on the ensuing drive.
The Barnstormers countered with a heavy run game against Colorado as Keshaudas Spence scored on the ensuing drive, giving the Barnstormers a 7-3 lead.
Spence would get the ball 11 times on the night, rushing for 46 yards and two touchdowns.
The low-scoring game continued in the second quarter, and the Barnstormers entered halftime with a 13-6 lead.
In the second half, Iowa’s defense would come up big. DaeJohn Love earned his league-leading fifth interception on the first drive of the half.
Travis Partridge would learly the team down the field on the ensuing drive to earn his lone rushing touchdown on the night.
On the next drive, the defense came up with a big sack in Crush territory. The game would later force the Crush to try a field goal at their own two yard line.
The field goal was blocked and Iowa recovered on the one. Spence would rush for his second touchdown of the night. Iowa would lead 27-6 at the end of third quarter.
In the fourth quarter, a Colorado interception gave the Crush some life. Backup quarterback Sean Goldrich would lead his team down the field, and into the redzone.
However, all-IFL defensive back Dee Maggit Jr. earned a 46-yard pick-six to seal the win for the Barnstormers.
Iowa returns to the field next Saturday when they face the Green Bay Blizzard.
