After being bought out by the Calgary Flames last week, Mason Raymond has found himself with another team. The forward signed a one year deal with the Anaheim Ducks.

Mason Raymond Signs With Ducks
It’s been a tough season for the forward. After scoring just four goals in 29 games, Raymond was placed on waivers and sent down to the AHL Stockton Flames. He finished out the season with Stockton, appearing in 15 games, totaling 6 goals and 9 assists.
Raymond was drafted during the 2005 NHL Entry Draft by the Vancouver Canucks. After his sophomore year of college, the forward decided to turn pro and signed an amateur contract with the Canucks minor league team. He spent parts of six seasons with the Canucks, where he contributed with 80 goals and 98 assists.
Raymond saw himself have a bounce back season when he signed with the Toronto Maple Leafs during September of 2013. He posted 19 goals and 26 assists, his best out-put since the 2009-10 season. Coaching him in Toronto that year was Randy Carlyle, the new head coach of the Ducks.
He would go on to earn a three-year contract worth $9.5 million the following season with the Calgary Flames. He would score his 100th in his second game with the team to go along with his third career hat trick. Raymond would finish that season with just 12 goals and 11 assists.
Ducks Off-Season
The Ducks have space up front as they lost a handful of players in free agency. Chris Stewart signed with the Minnesota Wild, David Perron with the St. Louis Blues and Jamie McGinn with the Arizona Coyotes. The team also did not make a qualifying offer to Brandon Pirri. Shawn Horcoff and Mike Santorelli are also waiting for offers from the team.
The forward hasn’t been able to put together a season such as he did with the Leafs. The hope is that Carlyle can help revive the forward. Raymond will also be reunited with former Canucks teammates Ryan Kesler and Kevin Bieksa in Anaheim.
