According to reports, unrestricted free agent point guard Rajon Rondo has agreed to a contract with the Chicago Bulls, which will pay him $28 million over two years. The contract cannot officially be signed until the end of the NBA’s moratorium period on July 7th.

Report: Rajon Rondo Agrees to Contract with Chicago Bulls
Rondo’s contract will take him through the end of the 2018 season.
Rondo averaged 11.9 points, six rebounds, and a staggering 11.7 assists per game last season for the Sacramento Kings. His steals average this year was on par with his career, averaging two per game. Rondo suffered multiple injuries this past season but was still able to dress in 72 games for the year. The Kings have not made the playoffs in ten seasons, but not to the fault of Rondo. He played a complete game on both the offensive and defensive ends of the floor. He also led the NBA in total assists for the season, despite only playing 72 games. Rondo can certainly still play.
Looking forward, Rondo will still able to be an elite point guard for the Bulls even though a lot of people may doubt him. There have been rumblings that Rondo is often a hard player to coach because of his stubbornness, but Chicago will certainly be happy to have him join their squad. The Bulls will need Rondo to get along with head coach Fred Hoiberg in order to secure a playoff spot in the 2016-17 season.
Rondo is going into his 11th season in the league, during which he’ll be 30 years old. He’ll turn 31 in February, towards the end of the season. Rondo is coming off of a one year contract with the Kings, which he signed in 2015 as a free agent. Before that, he played a half-season stint with the Dallas Mavericks. Previously, Rondo played the first eight-plus seasons of his career with the Boston Celtics.
