Roman Reigns Suspended for Violation of WWE Wellness Policy

The WWE announced in a release on their website this afternoon that they have suspended former WWE World Heavyweight champion Roman Reigns for 30 days. The punishment comes with a first violation of WWE’s Wellness policy. A second infraction nets 60 days, and a third equals possible termination.

Roman Reigns Suspended for Violation of WWE Wellness Policy

Reigns issued a public apology on his Twitter account following the news:

The “Samoan Superman” lost his championship to Seth Rollins at Sunday’s Money in the Bank pay per view, only for Dean Ambrose to cash in his Money in the Bank contract to steal the prize. Following a double count-out in the number one contender’s match between Reigns and Rollins on Monday Night Ray; Ambrose is scheduled to defend the title against both Rollins and Reigns in a triple threat match at next month’s Battleground event. There has not yet been any word about changes to that match.(Editor: Reigns’ suspension would end July 21, three days prior to WWE Battleground on Sunday July 24, so it appears he could still wrestle in the match). Things could still be complicated by the fact that Reigns will not be on tv in any of the build-up for that match.
