Georges St. Pierre is in No 'Rush' to Return

The rumors and here say are true. Georges St. Pierre is in negotiations to make a return to the UFC. Though, the companies current sponsorship arrangement may be a hold up in a deal getting done anytime soon.

At last nights Toronto Raptors and Philadelphia 76ers match-up, the former Welterweight Champion admitted to the alleged talks between him and his former employer. “Rush” did not give up any details on the conversations, only stating “maybe” he makes a comeback.

Since his pseudo-retirement started in 2013, many were under the impression that the former champ would not return until a better drug testing program was implemented by the world’s leading MMA organization. However, a new report from Bloody Elbow claims the companies exclusive sponsorship with Reebok may be the current hindrance in negotiations.

This doesn’t come as a surprise, since “GSP” is one of the biggest stars in the sports history, and would garner big bucks in finding his owner sponsorship partners. The Reebok deal does not currently allow for any outside sponsors to adorn UFC fighters gear while promoting a bout or stepping foot in the cage.

The saga continues in the tale of whether Georges St. Pierre ever graces the octagon again.
