Conor McGregor's Checks Really are Super-Heavyweight

During the press conference announcing the new main event of this passed weekends UFC 196, Conor McGregor boasted–as he always does–about how his checks are super-heavyweight. Well this fantastic video produced by MMAmania.com explains why that is actually true.

Not only is he the first UFC fighter to earn a base salary of $1,000,000 for a fight, he has also let it be know that he is likely to make as much as $10,000,000. After all the official numbers for pay-per-view buys come in.

Many are concerned that the UFC show an unethical level of favortism towards their featherweight champion, but with facts like having three of the four highest grossing gates in Las Vegas MMA fight history, it’s no wonder why. Plus, the last two pay-per-view promotions he has headlined for the company, have garnerred well over one million buys. Staggering, since average purchases of a UFC pay-per-view’s hover around 400,000.

The UFC stands to make around $60 million from this pay-per-view. Before expenses of course. However, even after marketing, production and fighter pay-outs (especially McGregor’s sizable paycheck), the company still stands to me upwards of $40 million.

It is no wonder McGregor is treated like a sacred cow by UFC brass, they continue to milk tons of cash out of him.
