Marshall started in 30 games in the last two years, and was an underrated impact defender for the Broncos during the past two years. It almost comes as a surprise that the 26-year-old out of Nevada was released after his rookie season in Jacksonville. He was a fifth-round pick and barely saw the field in 2012.

The Broncos took a chance on him but only on the practice squad in 2013. He only played one game, but the Broncos clearly saw something in 2013 and kept him around to compete for 2014.

In 2014, Marshall got a lot more playing time, but really caught a break when Nate Irving went down with an ACL injury. It gave him a chance to start next to Danny Trevathan and they never turned back, as the Broncos let Irving leave that year. Marshall recorded 95 tackles and two sacks in 2014.

In 2015, he took that momentum and was a feared run defender for the Broncos defense. He added 76 tackles and 1.5 sacks in 16 starts and was a key for Denver and their success on the road to the Super Bowl. For Denver to tender him proves how valuable they see him on their defense.

Marshall played four years of college football at the University of Nevada. He was a reserve player during his freshman year, but increased his productivity every season after. During his senior year, he recorded 102 total tackles, 7.5 tackles for loss, and two sacks.
