Former Cleveland Browns safety Tashaun Gipson has signed with the Jacksonville Jaguars. The deal is worth a maximum of $35.5 million over five years. Gipson spent the first four seasons of his career with the Browns.

Tashaun Gipson Signs With Jacksonville Jaguars
Tashaun Gipson played in 13 of 16 possible games in 2015, the most since his 2013 season (which was his only full season). Gipson’s production was down from his 2013 and 2014 seasons when he had five and six interceptions, respectfully. He played in a depleted Browns secondary that often left him as the only playmaker, with cornerback Joe Haden and fellow safety Donte Whitner in and out of the lineup with injuries. After being unable to come to a deal prior to the start of free agency, Gipson was reportedly excited to test the free agent market and shop his wares.
The San Bernardino, California native played his college ball at the University of Wyoming. Gipson began his college career as a cornerback alongside his brother Marcell Gipson, but he played the final eight games at safety. He impressively never missed a start in college. Tashaun was an undrafted free agent in 2012, despite a solid, yet unspectacular college career, and he was eventually signed by the Browns. He was an immediate contributer during his rookie season, as he played in 10 games and started in three of them. Gipson would claim the starting role the following season and establish himself as a playmaking safety with 16 starts and five interceptions. After being elected to the Pro Bowl in 2015, Gipson has emerged as a talented center fielder.
Gipson turns 26 in August and he is coming off a Pro Bowl season, so there is no surprise that the market for the free agent safety was strong. The talented free safety has a bright future ahead of him.
