As the season gets closer and motorsport fans get ready for the Autosport show this weekend it is only natural that big announcements would start to happen. The team that love to make big announcements and surprises have done it again.
Last year in February BMR announced that Colin Turkington and Jason Plato would both be running with the team as they looked to fight for the championship alongside Aron Smith and team owner Warren Scott. This year they may have gone one better with the announcement that both champions will be staying with them in a new look BMR. The team will be driving the Subaru Levorg Sports Tourer and it will have rear wheel drive. This is quite a turnaround for Plato as he fully against the advantages RWD had in 2014, however there excellent starts were pegged back last season due to rule changes.
Subaru is a massive global brand and this will be their first outing in the BTCC. It is important to remember that a first year with a car is never easy but with the vast experience that the whole BMR team possess it is highly likely that they will be challenging for the title. Turkington will also be back in his favoured RWD where he was so dominant in 2014 therefore the battle between the champions will be even more interesting.
