It’s NBA draft season, and the LWOS basketball team decided to do a consensus first round NBA mock draft this year. Contributors included Department Head Jack Moon Perrin, NBA writer Tanay Patri, NBA writer Ryan Timmerman, basketball editor Harrison Marcus, and myself. Each writer made their own mock draft that contributed to the department’s as a whole. I broke any ties between players using each writer’s mock. The series will run three separate articles, going ten picks at a time. This particular article will focus on picks 11-20.

2015 NBA Mock Draft: Part Two
11th Overall — Indiana Pacers
Cameron Payne – Murray State University
Sophomore — 6’2″ 185 lbs. — Point Guard
The Indiana Pacers have been looking for their point guard for a few years now, and they thought they had their guy when they traded Kawhi Leonard to the Spurs for George Hill (oof). Hill hasn’t worked out like they thought, but Payne has potential to be a two way player that the Pacers need.
12th Overall — Utah Jazz
Frank Kaminsky – University of Wisconsin
Senior — 7’1″ 230 lbs. — Center
Frank Kaminsky developed his game during his time at Wisconsin to become a versatile big man, something that will help him greatly in the modern NBA. The Jazz will be able to plug him in and expect him to be solid on both ends.
13th Overall — Phoenix Suns
Myles Turner – Texas Longhorns
Freshman — 6’11” 240 lbs. — Power Forward
Myles Turner had an up-and-down season at Texas, but everyone can see the versatile potential for the young Turner. The Suns need a guy that can become a really great player, and he gives them that chance.
14th Overall — Oklahoma City Thunder
Sam Dekker – University of Wisconsin
Junior — 6’9″ 220 lbs. — Small Forward
Oklahoma City is at a point where they are praying injuries don’t derail another season. It’s been three years in a row now, so getting some depth here should help their security. Dekker is a natural small forward, but he can move up in a small lineup, giving Billy Donovan a lot of options.
15th Overall — Atlanta Hawks
Kelly Oubre Jr. – Kansas University
Freshman — 6’7″ 205 lbs. — Small Forward
The Atlanta Hawks have an important off-season coming up, as they try to leapfrog as a true contender. They could lose utility man DeMarre Carroll to free agency, and they need some scoring pop. Oubre can provide that, and help cover some of Carroll’s production if he does leave.
16th Overall — Boston Celtics
Kevon Looney – UCLA
Freshman — 6’9″ 222 lbs. — Forward
While Looney’s game is more of a power forward’s right now, he has a chance to develop into a dual forward. He is long and lanky, and rebounds the ball very well. He’s a project, but one that Brad Stevens can develop.
17th Overall — Milwaukee Bucks
R.J. Hunter — Georgia Southern University
Junior — 6’6″ 185 lbs. — Shooting Guard
Milwaukee made great strides this year, but they still need guys that can shoot the ball from three consistently. Hunter is a guy that can provide that, and is a perfect role player to come off the bench.
18th Overall — Houston Rockets
Jerian Grant – University of Notre Dame
Senior — 6’4″ 200 lbs. — Point Guard
It was apparent that the Rockets needed some point guard help, as Patrick Beverley can’t do everything himself, and Pablo Prigioni is getting older and older. Grant is a mature guard that can operate a pick and roll, something Dwight Howard will love.
19th Overall — Washington Wizards
Bobby Portis – University of Arkansas
Sophomore — 6’11” 245 lbs. — Power Forward
The Wizards are in a good place in their franchise right now, as they are waiting on some of their young guys to enter the next tier. Marcin Gortat and Nene aren’t getting any younger, though, so Portis should help keep the front line young and active.
20th Overall — Toronto Raptors
Montrezl Harrell – University of Louisville
Junior — 6’8″ 255 lbs. — Power Forward
Montrezl Harrell is a kind of a one-trick pony coming out of college, but he is one heckuva athlete. He uses his power on both sides of the court, and he uses it very well. The Raptors could be looking to find a younger option for Amir Johnson soon, and Harrell is going to play his butt off for Toronto.
