Minnesota Timberwolves Win 2015 NBA Draft Lottery

With the best odds, the Minnesota Timberwolves won the right to pick first in the 2015 NBA Draft. The big winners in the NBA Draft Lottery though were the Los Angeles Lakers who moved up from a projected fourth to the second pick. With Karl-Anthony Towns from Kentucky and Duke’s Jahlil Okafor the most likely top picks, the Lakers are guaranteed a talented big man in the NBA draft.

The Philadelphia 76ers slipped to third with the New York Knicks fourth despite the second-worst regular season record. The Knicks are arguably the biggest losers in the draft lottery. The 76ers and the Knicks will be able to draft two of the best guards in the draft with Ohio State’s D’Angelo Russell and Emmanuel Mudiay who played in China last year.

The rest of the draft order followed according to plan with the remaining ten teams with descending odds lining up in perfect order with no surprises.

Timberwolves Will Have the Number 1 Picks From Last 3 NBA Drafts

In the Kevin Love blockbuster trade last August, the Timberwolves received former number one draft picks Andrew Wiggins and Anthony Bennett. Thus, with the number one pick in the 2015 draft, the Timberwolves will likely have three number one picks on their 2015 roster.
