Top 10 Fantasy Football Players Per Position

Training camp is not here yet, but today we want to give a little flavor of what guys will likely be the Top 10 Fantasy Football Players Per Position.

Top 10 Fantasy Football Players Per Position Pre-Training Camp Edition

The draft has passed and mini camps have started giving all of us the itch for some football. One of the best parts of the football season is fantasy. No, I’m not talking about all the Lions fans out there with the fantasy of actually making a run for a Super Bowl. I am talking about what millions of us are gearing up for as I write this, fantasy football season.

Talk to any NFL player and they will tell you they don’t have an off season. Well if you want to be great in fantasy football you better take that approach, there is no down time. Not only do you have to make sense of the numbers from last year (that’s what we are here for and you are welcome), but we have to figure out how they will translate to this season. Last year’s stats will not help you this year so do not use that logic. That is a great way to lose in fantasy football.

For instance, take a player I loved last year, Andre Ellington. I received many comments and emails about how crazy I was putting him in my love category before the year started but just look. Yes he did miss time at the end of the year but he still finished in the top 20 backs for the year in fantasy. I am not saying I am not crazy but getting a top 20 back in the fifth round is great.

Training camp is not here yet, but I wanted to put a little flavor of what guys will be top-10 type guys in each position. I do not touch defenses or kickers because the differential in value from one to twelve is not that different at all. That means you can wait on them and they are least important for the success of your team. I love Seattle’s defense but they are not worth a seventh round pick. The numbers add up but that selection does not. There is a degree of luck in anything including fantasy sports but that doesn’t mean we can’t use the brain. This game was meant to be dominated by smart guys.

Today, we will be doing a top 10 for QB, RB, WR and TE. It is likely that things will change before fantasy drafts take place but this is a great foundation to a winning keeper league or a draft strategy. Remember there is no off-season and you can find us here and on twitter anytime. Good luck!
