Saint Louis FC Match Day Preview 2: At Tulsa
Saint Louis FC complete their early season road trip with a midweek match up against fellow expansion team, Tulsa Roughnecks FC. Saint Louis look to bounce back from a 2-0 loss this past weekend in Louisville.
Match Up: Tulsa Roughnecks FC (0-0-1, 1 Pts.) vs. Saint Louis FC (0-1-0, 0 Pts.)
Date: Thursday, April 2 7:00 PM CST
Venue: ONEOK Field; Tulsa, OK
LAST TIME OUT: Saint Louis FC kicked off its inaugural regular season with a 2-0 loss at Louisville City FC last Saturday at Slugger Field. Magnus Rasmussen opened the scoring for the hosts midway through the first half before Charlie Adams doubled Louisville’s advantage in the 67th minute.
THE OPPONENT: Tulsa Roughnecks FC is an expansion club in its first season in USL. The Roughnecks were last in action on Saturday, when they scored a late equalizer to earn a 1-1 draw against Oklahoma City Energy FC in front of a sellout crowd at ONEOK Field.
FAMILIAR FOES: Thursday’s game will be the third meeting between Saint Louis and Tulsa within the last three weeks. The two sides met in preseason action in St. Louis on March 14 and in Tulsa on March 21. In both matches, the road team came away with the victory.
EAST vs. WEST: As a member of the USL Eastern Conference, Saint Louis FC will play four games against Western Conference opposition this season, starting with Thursday’s game at Tulsa. STL FC will also play Oklahoma City Energy FC on April 25 and July 25, along with a home date against Colorado Springs Switchbacks FC on June 19.
