Saint Louis FC Add Parker Maher and Bryan Ciesiulka
Saint Louis Football Club have signed a pair of players prior to the start of preseason camp on Monday.
Parker Maher and Bryan Ciesiulka are the latest players to be added to the USL expansion side, bringing the roster to 10 players heading into preseason.
Ciesiulka (midfielder, 23, 5′ 4”) is originally from Naperville, IL, just like his new teammate, Bryan Gaul. Ciesuikla was a fourth round pick for the Chicago Fire in the 2014 SuperDraft. He had a stint with the Fire PDL team and played last season with Gimo IF KF in Sweden.
“I have followed Bryan’s development through his entire youth career,” said Head Coach Dale Schilly. “With Bryan Growing up in Chicago, I have seen him in his days with the Chicago Magic and the Chicago Fire Development Academy. He is a blue-collar player who will work on both sides of the ball, and is a perfect cultural fit for what St. Louisans value with their players.”
Ciesiulka helped Marquette University win the regular season Big East Conference title in 2013. He helped the Golden Eagles win their first Big East Tournament Championship and shared the 2013 Big East Midfielder of the Year.
Maher (midfielder/defender, 21, 5′ 11”) is from Joplin, MO and played four years at Missouri State University in the Missouri Valley Conference. He was named to the 2011 MVC All-Freshman Team and was a 2014 All-MVC performer.
“Parker is a quick, skillful, technical player,” Schilly said. “He can play as an outside back or in various roles in the midfield. Fans will see a player who is quick to the ball and extremely active finding space without the ball. In addition, Parker possesses keen insight on how and when to get forward and join the attack.”
Maher made 72 appearances in college, starting 64 matches. He was a NSCAA Scholar All-North/Central Region Second Team selection.
MSU Men’s Soccer Coach Jon Leamy added “Parker is an even-keeled player who is technically sound. He created a lot chances for us when attacking from the defensive third through the midfield. His left foot is very good and he can really play some great balls into the middle.”
