Coming off of their 2014 MLS Cup Championship, the Los Angeles Galaxy have announced their 2015 Preseason Schedule. Two friendlies and tryout dates for L.A. Galaxy II, the Galaxy’s USL-Pro affiliate were also announced.
L.A. Galaxy Preseason Schedule Released
All Galaxy players will report for physical assessments on Thursday, January 22 at StubHub Center. The team will train at StubHub from January 23-February 10. L.A. Galaxy II, otherwise known as ‘Los Dos,’ will have open tryouts the weekend of January 31. A minimum of two players will be allowed to go on trial with Los Dos in the preseason with a chance to make the roster for the 2015 season.
The squad will go on tour in Europe from February 11-22. They will train in Ireland until Sunday, February 15. They will play Hammarby IF at Tele2 Arena in Stockholm, Sweden. Hammarby is a member of Allsvenskan, the top level of Swedish football. They were promoted from the second division in 2014. AEG is a 49% share owner of the team. The match will take place at 11:30 am PT (7:30 pn local time).
The Galaxy will then return to Ireland, as Captain and Ireland’s all time scoring leader will have a homecoming. The Galaxy play Shamrock Rovers F.C. in a friendly at Tallaght Stadium at 8 am PT (4 pm local time) on Saturday, February 21. Shamrock Rovers have won a record 17 league titles in Ireland.
The Galaxy will then return to Los Angeles on February 22. It is unclear if the L.A. Galaxy will play any friendlies or partake in any of the preseason tournaments involving other MLS teams.
L.A. kicks off the 2015 MLS regular season on Friday, March 6 against the Chicago Fire. The match will be held at StubHub Center at 7 pm PT. Tickets are on sale now. The match can be viewed on UniMas.
