Khabib Nurmagomedov Talks Retirement and UFC says Goodbye to Cain Velasquez

Khabib Nurmagomedov

Khabib Nurmagomedov has been one of the biggest and best UFC stars to enter the industry to date. He has a phenomenal record and he has done great things for the business. It was a shock to say the least when he came out with a statement suggesting that he was planning on retiring from the UFC industry in two or three years. He believes that staying undefeated is utterly impossible and he doesn’t want to tarnish his record. He currently stands at 28-0. He has a 12-0 record in the UFC and he also has one of the best records out of any MMA champion. The Eagle believes that he should be in fact labelled as one of the best pound-for-pound fighters on the planet. He is remarkable and coming this far was no easy task for him. He knows how rough the road has been so far and this is one of the many reasons why he actually has plans to retire in the next three or four years.

Is the UFC Losing Stars?

The fighter has stated that he doesn’t want to fight all of his life, and that doing what he’s doing right now is taking a lot out of him. He is also aware that there is a lot of young and hungry talent out there that could be coming for him, and he doesn’t want to ruin his record too much. The crowd certainly believes that he has the potential to go for another 5 or more years yet, but he knows that this would be a challenge that would be too much to bear. Of course, the fighter has always been a favourite with those who bet online, and he usually has incredible odds too.

Undefeated and Undisputed

Khabib Nurmagomedov believes that being undefeated and undisputed can be difficult, and in a lot of ways, impossible. He stated that when you look back throughout history, whether it’s MMA, boxing or even soccer, everyone has to lose one day. You need to know when to stop, and this is why he has set himself the goal of retiring in two years. Khabib Nurmagomedov’s father has come out to say that leaving the sport at a record of 30-0 would be perfect. This ultimately means that he only has to compete two more times before he calls it quits. The father of Khabib Nurmagomedov might as well be his manager. He has a huge say in his career and this is why it’s possible that he will retire far sooner than what most people think.

The Eagle

The Eagle has admitted that he never even thought about trying to end his career with a perfect record. Now he knows that if he ever wants to reach the finish line, he needs to stay focused and devote everything that he possibly can. He believes that he is almost there and that over the next couple of years, he wants to give his career some serious consideration. There is a high chance that the next step for the fighter would be to defend his title against Tony Ferguson. He also has a very impressive record as he has come out with a total of 12 straight wins since the year 2013. Should The Eagle be able to defeat him, he may even be able to fight Conor McGregor with a money fight against Georges St-Pierre. This would be an incredible way to end his career, but at the same time, there is a chance that he might not be able to go the distance.

Cain Velasquez

In other news regarding the MMA and UFC world, Cain Velasquez has announced his retirement. This, coupled with the news from Khabib just goes to show that the UFC are losing stars faster than they are gaining them. Cain Velasquez has stated that he wants to go on to be the WWE champion and that he also wants to take part in Triple AAA. Shortly after making his statement, he debuted at the Mexican promotion. The main reason why he has come out with this news is because he has sustained a lot of injuries over the years. He made his WWE break by vowing to defeat Brock Lesnar, another opponent who has made his way into the WWE. They are going to have a match at the Crown Jewel PPV, which is due to take place on October 31st in Saudi Arabia.

Cain Velasquez has confirmed that his time in the cage is now well and truly over, and that he has had a plagued career in terms of injuries. They are now taking their toll on him and he needs a change of scenery. Of course, this wouldn’t be the first time that an MMA star has gone to the WWE. Ronda Rousey made the switch, along with Bobby Lashley and Shayna Baszler.

The news from Velasquez could be down to the fact that he was knocked out by no one other than Francis Ngannou in his last fight. He chose to thank the UFC for the career that he has had, but right now, his alliances are with the WWE. He actually only watched his first WWE show a year ago, but he has been in love with it since he was a child. From that point on, he has been doing a crash course in everything to do with pro wrestling. He has been training at gyms, going to as many shows as he can and even watching it on television. He has signed a contract with the WWE and his goal is to now become the champion.

Of course, the news from Velasquez and the Eagle is great because it means that they are both focusing on their own well-being rather than just their professional lives. That being said, are the UFC losing stars faster than they are gaining them? Are they going to be able to sustain the momentum that the fans expect? Only time will tell but right now there are some exciting things in the pipeline, and it’s safe to say that things are heating up.
