Week 3 of the Arena Football League has come and gone. After two exciting games this week, it’s time for us to release our 2017 Arena Football League Week 3 Takeaways.

Raudabaugh Gets off to Shaky Start

Philadelphia Soul quarterback Dan Raudabaugh struggled once again this week. He threw an interception to former teammate Tracy Belton which was returned for a touchdown.

Not only that, but Raudabaugh seemed to not be able to find his receivers. He threw a lot of off-target passes throughout the game. He finished with five touchdown passes, but had he been more accurate, he could have thrown 10 and the Soul would have won in more dominant fashion.

New Quarterback, Same Situation

After two losses under quarterbacks Shane Boyd and Tanner Marsh, the Cleveland Gladiators started Arvell Nelson against the Tampa Bay Storm. The Gladiators got off to a 27-7 lead and things were looking up for Cleveland.

However, they were not the same team after that. The Storm dominated the rest of the game, outscoring the Gladiators 55-34. Tampa would go on to win by a final score of 62-61.

Three losses with three different quarterbacks. Maybe the problem isn’t with who’s under center, after all.

Top Dog Tampa Bay

The Storm have proven that with the Soul’s struggles, they are now the best team in the Arena Football League. Randy Hippeard and his weapons in Joe Hills, Kendrick Ings and LaMark Brown make for an offensive powerhouse.

Tampa’s defense has also been very impressive. The defensive line has been able to sack all three opposing quarterbacks they’ve faced several times.

They are looking like favorites to win the ArenaBowl in August. Of course, there’s still a long way to go, but it’s so far, so good for the Storm. Here’s to hoping they can keep it up.
