Report: Cialis Caused Jon Jones Failed Drug Test

When word came out about a Jon Jones failed a drug test that resulted in him being pulled from the UFC 200 main event 48 hours from the event, the MMA world thought “Here we go again.”

This ultimately sent the UFC into a tail spin as Jones, the interim light-heavyweight champion, was set to main event UFC 200 in a light heavyweight title unification fight with current champion Daniel Cormier. However with him being pulled, this shifted the whole card around as Amanda Nunes and Miesha Tate, who were already on the card fighting for the UFC women’s bantamweight titlewould become the main event and of course as we all know, Anderson Silva would step in and fight Cormier.

Report: Cialis Caused Jon Jones Failed Drug Test

In the last 48 hours however, major developments that support Jones’ claim of innocence and not knowing that he took a performance enhancing drug (PED), have been more valid than most people originally thought. These developments include comments made by Jones earlier in the week claiming that he expected to be reinstated.

UFC President Dana White also indicated earlier this week that he expected Jones to be reinstated as well.

As fate would have it, earlier this evening on “The Countdown”, an MMA radio show on SiriusXM, UFC middleweight champion, Michael Bisping, claimed that it was Cialis that caused the failed drug test that forced Jones out of UFC 200.

Jones has stated that he has taken Cialis before, however he has never once mentioned it until now.

Cialis is a commonly used drug for erectile dysfunction (ED). According to their website, Cialis is also approved to “help treat signs and symptoms of benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH)”

Due to the fact Cialis is a drug used for ED, this will increase testosterone which would ultimately raise flags for the USADA to investigate.

UFC President Dana White has not made any comment on this most recent update, nor has anyone from Jones’ camp.
