Jamie Benn Signs Massive Eight Year Extension

Benn finished the 2015-2016 regular season second in league scoring with 89 points. He led the Stars to a division title. However, they would lose to the St. Louis Blues in the second round of the playoffs. Benn led the NHL in scoring in 2014-15, and took home the Art Ross Trophy when he put up 35 goals and 52 assists for 87 points in 82 games.

Benn has been a gem of a late round pick for the Stars. They drafted him in the 5th round, 129th overall, in the 2007 NHL Entry Draft. In seven NHL seasons, Benn has scored 192 goals and 256 assists for 448 points in 508 career NHL games.

Benn was also part of the 2014 Canadian Olympic Team that won a gold medal in Sochi, Russia.
