Georges Niang impressed the Orlando Magic Summer League Crowd yet again on Tuesday when the 6’9 power forward earned another double digit scoring night. He finished with 14 points, six rebounds, and three assists in another well-rounded performance.
Niang keeps impressing as Pacers fall again
The former Iowa State Cyclone has always been a subject of criticism to couch scouts across the nation.
“Who can he guard in the NBA?”
“His footwork is garbage, and slow.”
“There is no way he is going to get drafted.”
NBATV Announcers felt otherwise on Tuesday. On multiple occasions after Niang scored on Tuesday, they brought up more and more good things to say about the former Cyclone. Things like calling him of the nicest players they had ever met, comparing him (again) to Draymond Green, and asking how Niang dropped to draft pick #50, really stood out to just how good of a player Georges Niang is.
Matt Shoultz, assistant director of communications at Iowa State sought out this stat prior to the Indiana Pacers game on Tuesday.
No surprise. Through three days in Orlando @GeorgesNiang20 is only player averaging 11 pts, 8 rbs, 3 assts. #triplethreat

Clearly, he is putting up some impressive numbers for the Pacers, and it will be quite interesting to see if the Iowa Stater can make it to Indiana’s NBA roster.
Niang will make another appearance for the Pacers on Wednesday, again at 4:00pm CT when the team faces the Thunder.
LWOS’ Cyclone analyst Connor Ferguson will continue to have coverage and live updates on former Cyclones in Summer League action on his twitter account (@cfchangs9) and here on the site. That includes Georges Niang of the Indiana Pacers and recently picked up Jameel McKay of the New Orleans Pelicans.
All NBA Summer League games can be watched live on NBATV or ESPN3, and stats can be found on the free, NBA GameTime App.
