The Los Angeles Clippers have agreed to re-sign unrestricted free agent guard Jamal Crawford to a contract worth $42 million over three years. The contract cannot officially be signed until the end of the NBA’s moratorium period on July 7th.
Shams Charania of The Vertical broke the news on Sunday evening:

Jamal Crawford Agrees to Re-sign with Los Angeles Clippers
Crawford’s new deal will take him through the end of the 2018-19 season. No player or team options in the contract have been reported yet, if any exist, but the third year of the deal is reportedly only partially guaranteed.
The 36-year-old Crawford is entering his 17th NBA season. He has played for six different franchises over his career. He has spent the last four seasons with the Clippers. He currently ranks seventh all-time in three-point attempts and made baskets.
In the 2015-16 season, Crawford won his third Sixth Man of the Year award. He averaged 14.2 points, 2.3 assists, and 1.8 rebounds per game. Despite the fact that he is getting long in the tooth, Crawford still has the ability to score from anywhere on the court. The 6-5, 195 pound guard’s most impressive quality may just be his ability to get to the free-throw line whether he is driving to the basket or shooting a three-pointer. Not only does he get to the charity stripe but he cashes in. Last season he shot 90.4 percent from the foul line and is 86.1 percent for his career.
Crawford’s veteran leadership and skills off the bench will continue to be a valuable asset for a Clippers team looking to finally get over the hump and win a championship. The agreement to re-sign Crawford, along with yesterday’s agreements to re-sign Clippers guard Austin Rivers and forward Wesley Johnson, makes it clear that L.A. is out of the running to lure superstar forward Kevin Durant in free agency.
