MLS Pick ‘Em 2016 – Week 15 – Real Salt Lake v. D.C. United
Last week’s California Classico may have failed to live up to some of the hype, but it landed perfect scores for a handful of the experts, including myself. Here are the updated standings:
Player | Points | Correct Outcome | Incorrect | Correct Score |
Eric Walcott | 15 | 7 | 6 | 4 |
Joseph Goldstein | 11 | 5 | 8 | 3 |
Matt Pollard | 9 | 5 | 8 | 2 |
Russ McKenzie | 9 | 5 | 8 | 2 |
Ned Joyce | 8 | 4 | 9 | 2 |
Joe Hojnacki | 4 | 2 | 11 | 1 |
Daniel Sperry | 3 | 1 | 12 | 1 |
Laura McFayden | 0 | 0 | 13 | 0 |
This week, DC travels West to face a RSL team that has struggled for consistency much like the team in Red and Black. RSL had a mix bag last week after coming from behind to beat the Red Bulls before falling to FC Dallas over the weekend. DC meanwhile has posted 2 straight shutouts earning 4 points out of the available 6. Will DC continue to imporove, or will inconsistency pop-up to say hello again? Let’s see what the experts say
Expert | Pick | Comments |
Joseph Goldstein |
DRAW |
RSL has enough to get the job done at home. DC can be frustratingly anti-football at times, but I think they can give RSL a scare. |
Eric Walcott |
DRAW |
DC’s switch to a 433 last week seemed transformational. If they stick with it, they get a draw on the road. If they go back to Benny-ball they get demolished. |
Russ McKenzie |
RSL |
Because West is greater than East. |
Ned Joyce |
RSL |
RSL needs to show its not just a flash in a pan. They will put 1 in and DC will fold. DC is as consistent as the weather and will look nothing like the promising team of last week |
Matt Pollard |
DC |
Because MLS. |
Daniel Sperry |
RSL |
DC seems to do well every other week, and last week was their good week. |
Joe Hojnacki |
RSL |
Intra-conference matches for a wild card team like D.C. United pretty much never go well. United’s recent spells of tactical creativity should net them a goal, but it won’t be enough.Real Salt Lake is in the thick of things at the top of the West and should be able to mop away this opponent with relative ease. |
Laura McFayden |
RSL |
West coast best coast and RSL seems to know how to rack up the points right now. |
