A Beastly Reveal For 2K Games
2K Games and WWE announced Brock Lesnar as the cover star of WWE 2K17. Lesnar now joins a list of bankable Superstars who have been the cover star for previous WWE 2K games, such as The Rock, Ultimate Warrior, John Cena and “Stone Cold” Steve Austin. “The Beast Incarnate” himself also Tweeted the following after the reveal:
.@WWEgames finally wised up and put The Beast on the cover of #WWE2K17. https://t.co/FczwUofQ6l pic.twitter.com/FWJ7851lh2

As a matter of fact 2K’s first reveal came at the Electronic Entertainment Expo (or E3), the annual video game industry expo, in early June. Sasha Banks, John Cena and The Ultimate Warrior were the first three names announced for the new title in the 2k series. WWE artist Rob Schamberger revealed all 3 superstars for the game with a unique work of art.
A huge coincidence?
In addition, fans shall also have the chance to play as Goldberg if they pre-order the game. The former WCW World Heavyweight Champion will be a playable character for fans who pre-order the game. Correspondingly 2K and WWE released a trailer for the pre-order a few weeks ago. Coincidentally in the trailer for the pre-order bonus there was a brief “Suplex City” cameo. Could Goldberg be a new resident in suplex city? Perhaps a sign of things to come for WWE fans to prosper.
In the light of recent rumors regarding Goldberg and a potential return to WWE. The trailer has only intensified those rumors due to a clear trend. 2K15 was revealed with a trailer of Sting, who months later finally debuted in WWE. In Goldberg’s case this could signify a return to the company and perhaps a potential feud with Brock Lesnar.
The upcoming installment in the WWE 2K series is set for release in October. WWE 2K17 will be available on Xbox One, PS4, Xbox 360 and PS4. However 2K games are yet to reveal a specific release date for the game.
