LA Galaxy Midfielder Nigel de Jong Suspended Three Games

The following is a press release from the LA Galaxy of Major League Soccer, concerning the league disciplinary committee’s ruling on midfielder Nigel De Jong’s recent foul that occurred in a match against the Portland Timbers.

De Jong to miss matches against Houston Dynamo, Real Salt Lake and Sporting Kansas City

CARSON, Calif. (Friday, April 15, 2016) – The MLS Disciplinary Committee has suspended LA Galaxy midfielder Nigel de Jong for three games and issued an undisclosed fine for his foul in the 73rd minute of LA’s match against the Portland Timbers on April 10.

De Jong will serve his suspension during the Galaxy’s matches against the Houston Dynamo (Friday, April 15), Real Salt Lake (Saturday, April 23), and at Sporting Kansas City (Sunday, May 1).

The Galaxy are in action tonight when they face the Houston Dynamo in a road match at BBVA Compass Stadium at 4 p.m. PT live on UniMás.
