Breaking News: Jerome Kaino Starts for the Blues

Breaking news for this evenings Chiefs v Blues Super Rugby match, with two positional changes on either side.

Firstly for the Blues, inspirational Blues skipper for 2016 Jerome Kaino has been included in the run on squad which has fortified the Blues pack. His inclusion was at the expense of Joseph Edwards, who was replaced. A key decision, based on the fitness and desire of Kaino to help his ‘Blues brothers’.

The home side too have had to shuffle their men, when Anton Lienert-Brown had to be withdrawn due to a leg infection. Into the starting team is Seta Tamanivalu and Stephen Donald is promoted onto the bench.

Each change will bring benefits; more obviously for the Blues, but Lienert-Brown had been in good combination so Donald might find he gets few minutes (if any) so that Tamanivalu can build a link with the on-form Charlie Ngatai. This Chiefs team is motoring along nicely, and the outside centre role is crucial to opening the attacking width of this side. The Blues will need to counter any moves from their opponents while Chiefs fans maybe suspicious of the late flanker changes.

It all makes for a classic ‘Battle of the Bombays’ in Round Seven of Super Rugby.

Stay tuned for more updates post-match from Last Word On Sports.
